The tealight holder had no design theory behind it, unlike some of the other pieces I have posted about.
However! To please the tutors, I said this:
As humans, we make ourselves look presentable and perfect on the outside when in reality, we are putting on 'make-up' to hide the infections we all carry around inside of ourselves.
The polished outside represents the 'make-up' whilst the dull inside, are the imperfections we all carry.
The candle, representing 'the light of the world', is there to remind us that we are one with Christ and perfect in his eyes.
That description apparently was enough for the tutors!
