Wire Jewellery - buttons

I have quite a strong love for buttons but I try and restrain myself from using them as they seem to be a popular choice for jewellery making!
However, These simple rings look stylish and vintage!

Wire Jewellery - fish

I really enjoyed making these fish keyrings. The design is so simple and each fish didn't take long to make at all! And with thousands of colours to choose from, I could have an entire ocean of them!

Wire Jewellery - celtic cross

These rainbow Celtic crosses with a handmade chain.

The majority of the beads for all my wire jewellery have been sourced from charity shops; Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Wire Jewellery - rings

Early last year, I thought it would be great fun to do a craft stall but unfortunately for me, the lack of time off from my work, didn't give me much of a chance to create the quantity of items needed to make the stall worth while.

However, throughout the summer of last year, I did carry on creating a range of jewellery, in the hopes that one day, I will sell my work.

As the rings are quite jazzy, I'll show these to you first!

Home Communion set - display

The display I thought, was quite clever and fun. I say clever in a loose term but here it goes:

There are 3 levels of height as you can see from the image; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Father; the middle platform, of which the chalice stands centrally, everything forms around.
Son; the highest platform supporting the cruets containing 'the blood of Christ' (actually ribena!)
Holy Spirit; the lowest of the 3 platforms, holds the tealight, representing an all manner of things but mainly being 'the light which guides'.

The whiteness of the display not only represents purity but is less of a distracting colour than for example red.

Having a red tealight at the front and "wine" in the corked cruet at the back, attracts the eye back and forth to each item visually passing the viewers vision over the chalice; the very centre of the display.

Under 2 of the platforms are clear tealight holders holding clear marbles.

The marbles are there to represent my love for them as well as carrying on the theme for the set.
Clear marbles seem a bit boring on mass but it is a subtle bit of fun hidden from sight!

Home Communion set - paten

The paten, just like the pyx, has no memory inspiring the designing process.
All the paten needs to do is hold the wafers as the priest hands them out.

Oh so simple!

Home Communion set - bookmark

The bookmark was more a treat from me. The set did not need a bookmark but at the time, it seemed like a fun idea and it still does to be honest with you!

Keeping with the marble theme and linking it to the chalice, the bookmark has a small spiral at the top holding a solitary marble. The marble consists of the 3 primary colours; the colours we associate with rainbows. 'Bows of colours' are mentioned throughout the bible (Genesis 9:14)

Home Communion set - pyx

The pyx has no design concept based on memories.
It is however a simple design which has a locking mechanism and is incredibly shiny!

The pyx, for those of you who don't know, is to carry the wafers (round white things) to and from each home visit a priest may do at any given time.
